Encouraging Progress on the Air7: World’s First Inflatable AKE

Developing the revolutionary Air7 - the world’s first inflatable AKE - is exciting and challenging, even for our dream team of engineers. However, it’s also time-consuming. Creating the strongest possible construction for a Unit Load Device that is foldable and stackable has kept us busy for the last year or so.

So, we’re pleased to report that all remaining structural hurdles have been cleared, and the testing stage is complete. Now we’re ready to move on to the next Air7 challenge: the cover.

Our sewing department is currently working with our supplier to make a perfect-fit cover that is just as strong as those used with regular aluminum containers. This is quite a task. The cover’s ultimate test will be that it can withstand the ULD hanging upside down, fully loaded. Now that should make an interesting video!

We’ll keep you posted with our progress. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the Air 7, feel free to contact us. You can also watch our video The Final Stretch to see the marathon journey we’ve taken to get to this stage. Apparently, it all started with a curious idea…
