VRR Joins Roparun 2024, Seeking Your Support for a Worthy Cause

VRRUnners team members

It’s official! We’re stepping up to our most exhilarating and exhausting challenge to date. For the first time, a VRR team will be participating in Roparun, the world's longest relay race. We are now actively seeking your support as sponsors to help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients.

A charity event like no other

Roparun is a unique annual event. Starting in various locations, but always culminating in Rotterdam, the race covers an astounding 500 kilometres. This iconic event brings together teams of approximately 25 individuals, including eight runners who will, guided by cyclists, each cover an average of about 65 kilometres in relay form – that’s equivalent to more than one and a half marathons.

What sets Roparun apart is not only its primary goal—raising funds to enhance the quality of life for cancer patients—but also its scale. It is one of the largest charity events in the Netherlands, supporting causes such as hospices, accommodation for caring relatives, wigs for children, and holidays for patients.

Preparing for an epic journey with a little help from their friends

Back at VRR, we have an ambitious goal: to run from Paris to Rotterdam and raise at least €20,000 for palliative care for cancer patients. Our team called The VRRunners includes runners, cyclists, caterers, drivers, masseurs and others who are dedicated to achieving this challenging mission in May 2024.

Of course, they will need extensive training to prepare for this gruelling journey, especially the runners and cyclists. They will also need a lot of encouragement if they are to achieve their goal. That’s why we’re reaching out to our community in the air cargo industry in the search for potential sponsors.

You can back the team in a variety of ways (merchandise, equipment, services, money, etc). All your contributions will be greatly appreciated and go a long way in making a difference in the lives of cancer patients. Know that each team member is committed to minimising costs so that the maximum amount of funds can be directed towards the noble causes associated with Roparun.
